Pride and Prejudice in words and music
at 6.30pm at Tetbury Goods Sheds Arts Centre
With Dame Harriet Walter, actress; Melvyn Tan, piano
The enduring story of the romance between Elizabeth Bennett and Mr Darcy is read by star of stage and screen, Harriet Walter, in a simple but intimate drawing-room setting, in much the same way that Jane herself first read the story aloud to her family and their closest friends.
Weaving around those words is Carl Davis’ magical score from the much loved BBC TV drama series of the 1990s, performed by Melvyn Tan (pianist on the original BBC soundtrack) and violinist Irene Duval.
The book has been abridged by novelist and Austen biographer, Gill Hornby.

She is one of Bachtrack’s Rising stars to watch for 25/26.
Recent highlights include her participation in Stephen Kovacevich’s 85th birthday concert at Wigmore Hall alongside Martha Argerich, her debut with the Philharmonia Orchestra at the first symphonic concert given by an international orchestra in Mauritius,
